Today marks the fifteenth annual Close the Gap Day – a campaign that works towards closing the gap in health and life expectancy outcomes between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians within a generation.

The aim of Close the Gap Day is to bring people together to share information, and most importantly, to take meaningful action in support of achieving Indigenous health equality by 2030.

There are countless individual and community  success stories in Indigenous-led health policy, service delivery and humanrights sectors, with one of our clients, Cole Supplies, being one of them.

Cole Supplies

Cole Supplies is a Noongarowned and operated Supply Nation-certified supplier of high-quality bulk corporate apparel, industrial supplies and PPE.

As a Supply Nation-certified business, Cole Supplies is part of Australia’s leading directory of verified Indigenous companies, dedicated to supporting supplier diversity to create a more inclusive economy.

Supporting Indigenous health

Cole Supplies proudly supports many local community groups and works tirelessly to support Aboriginals in a variety of cultural activities.

“Our rich heritage is engrained in everything we do; from our commitment to customer experience to enriching our communities through our work”, says CEO, Gordon Cole.

One of the many community groups that Cole Supplies supports is the Noongar Wellbeing & Sports (NWS).

The NWS has become recognised and respected as the leading grassroots agency within Noongar Country. It develops partnerships that maximise opportunities for Indigenous Australians living in Noongar country, including increased participation in sport and recreational activities which  can lead to positive health, education, social and cultural benefits.

Cole Supplies also supports the Young Aboriginal Girls Program, aiming to improve parenting engagement, self-efficacy and wellbeing.

The program involves weekly physical activity sessions, leadership activities, cultural activities and occasional excursions and bonding sessions for both the girls and their carers.

Making an impact during COVID-19

In 2020, Cole Supplies’ small yet dedicated team supplied more than 39 million masks and other medical PPE to the Australian Government during a very challenging time – firstly with the Bushfires into remote areas, then throughout COVID-19. In 2021, it continues to supply PPE and COVID-safe products to people in need.
