We are delighted to announce promotions for two of our key staff – with Tim Grey-Smith and Carina Tan-Van Baren moving to the role of Associate Director.

Tim’s promotion reflects the outstanding outcomes he has delivered for clients since joining Purple’s Government Relations team in 2017.

The Corporate Affairs team has also benefited greatly from Carina’s expertise in the health and aged care sectors.

“Tim’s promotion reflects not only personal growth, but also growth in our business,” National Director Karen Brown said.

“He has shown great commitment to achieving results for our clients – and with experience across the energy, resources, planning, property and local government sectors, his commercial acumen has been invaluable for them and for Purple.

“Tim’s knowledge of government at all levels, ability to engage and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to build strong relationships have been key factors in the continued development of our Government Relations team.”

Corporate Affairs Director Fran Lawrence said Carina’s diverse skill set and range of experience had been a powerful addition to Purple’s offering to clients.

“Carina is providing our aged care clients with expert assistance in navigating the challenging landscape of the Royal Commission,” she said.

“Her attention to detail and work ethic have quickly been recognised within Purple and by our clients and other stakeholders.

“Carina brings a unique skill set and perspective to her role – with experience practising commercial law focussing on the property sector, at federal government level and as an adviser in a ministerial office, and having held a variety of senior journalism roles at The West Australian.”

The promotions are among a number of early-2019 changes at Purple, which include Karen Brown being appointed as acting head of our Government Relations team and experienced adviser Michael Cairnduff being promoted to the role of Director in Government Relations.

Community and stakeholder engagement specialist Jordin Payne has joined our Corporate Affairs team, while David Mano has been appointed as a Consultant in Government Relations.
